Descriptive Analysis

A combination of qualitative and quantitative testing in which highly trained panelists rate the perceived intensity of specified attributes, using a scale.

The intensity scores for the attributes define the sensory properties, which can be used in product development to:

  • Identify gaps within the marketplace
  • Detect key drivers of consumer acceptance and product optimization
  • Determine the effects of ingredient change on the product
  • Understand the effects of product storage over time
We currently run five sessions a week. We have two highly trained expert panels recruited from the local area; one commercially available to work on various products and one dedicated to a single client.

We also recruit and train new panels to meet clients' objectives.
